PN and businessmen will build a mini sports complex in La Zurza neighborhood
SANTO DOMINGO. The National Police, with the support of public and private sector institutions, will build a mini sports complex in the La Zurza sector of the National District.
The details in this regard were provided by the director of the Police, Major General Edward Ramón Sánchez González, and executives of the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP), led by the president of the business union, Pedro Brache, during a descent that they made to the place where the new facility will be built, on the banks of the Isabela River at the mouth of La Cañada de Los Dulceros.
It will consist of a children's baseball and softball stadium, a soccer field and a six-lane running track in a straight line so that the children of the sector can take their first steps in these disciplines.
The President of CONEP said that this entity supports one hundred percent this type of initiative, which he defined as novel, and indicated that “the Police prevent and guide against crime, through specific works that provide solutions to a sector as vulnerable as La Zurza ”.
He congratulated the Director of Police for joining the efforts of the public and private sectors for the benefit of those most in need.
Along with Brache were CONEP businessmen César Dargam, Rogelio Viesca, Angie Bergés, Lucile Houellemont, Rafael Izquierdo, Arlina Peña and Sergio Sánchez.
The mini-sports complex will be built in an area of the La Zurza neighborhood, located in the northern part of the National District, where a landfill operated that is being enabled and leveled with heavy equipment provided by the Ministry of Public Works, to start the work at as soon as possible.
