La Zurza Interceptors 1200 MM Pumping Line

The Project "Construction of the 1200 MM Pumping Line for Interceptors of the Mirador Norte Subsystem (La Zurza)" was created to respond to the lack of a sanitary system in the different sectors of Greater Santo Domingo. Its objective is to collect the wastewater generated in certain areas of the country and channel it to the Av. Jacobo Majluta Treatment Plant.

To achieve this purpose, the following activities are intended:

Construction of 14 registers with the secant pile system, with depths ranging between 11 and 15 meters deep, 3 prefabricated registers with a diameter of 4 meters and 2 conventional ones.

Laying of 1,200 meters of reinforced concrete pipe using the microtunneling system and 95 meters laid in a conventional way (open pit).

Construction of a 240-meter-long metal bridge to cross the Isabela River.

Placement of 240 meters of ductile iron pipe.

Laying of 5528 meters of Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester pipe with a nominal pressure of 10 MPa and 837.67 meters of the same pipe, with a nominal pressure of 16 MPa.

In this way, it is intended to ensure that the wastewater reaches the treatment plant constantly to be treated and later returned to the Isabela and Ozama rivers, contributing to the preservation, rehabilitation, sanitation and sustainable use of their watersheds.
