For the sustainable development of La Zurza
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.– La Zurza social organizations committed to the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CAASD) to work together to find solutions for the benefit of the residents of the area.
Felipe Suberví, general director of the CAASD, established a collaboration agreement with these community organizations for the sustainable and comprehensive development of La Zurza and other neighboring sectors of the National District.
This cooperation agreement was signed by the Comprehensive Sanitation Foundation (Fusai), the Union of Neighborhood Councils and Grassroots Organizations of La Zurza (Ujvobzur), the Coordinator of Organizations of La Zurza (Coodezurza) and the Environmental Sanitation Foundation of La Zurza (Fundsazurza).
The purpose is to promote a development program in the neighborhoods supported by the CAASD and other government entities, which includes the improvement of physical-environmental conditions, education on the use and management of water resources, correct care of sanitary facilities and improvement of the supply of the precious liquid.
A note sent to Con Sentido Social details that during the event the first working group made up of community leaders and social action assistants of the CAASD was set up.
In this sense, the official guaranteed the support of the institution to the initiatives of the neighborhood organizations.
"The work table will be the guarantor of responses to the CAASD," he emphasized.
He also announced that a pilot test of a new system to automate the services of the government institution will be carried out in the coming days. With this model, a dynamic will be created through which a response will be given to users, assured Suberví.
Commitment
For his part, the president of the Union of Neighborhood Councils, Leonardo Guzmán Rosell, stated that they are willing to work hand in hand with the authorities of the CAASD, to solve the problems that affect hundreds of families from different sectors of the areas involved.
Meanwhile, the director of Fundsazurza, Germán Herrera, explained that the initiative seeks to create citizen awareness to optimize the use of the water resource, increase the levels of sanitation in the sectors and conservation of the environment.
During the activity, the organizations presented Felipe Suberví with a plaque of recognition for his work for the benefit of the community, where he was declared ‘Adoptive Son of La Zurza’.
It was held within the customary meeting held by the director of the CAASD with the community of Greater Santo Domingo, where he listens to the concerns and problems that affect its residents, to bring solutions.
