SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.- President Luis Abinader announced that the Pilot Plan of the National Strategy for Citizen Security and Peaceful Coexistence will extend to La Puya de Arroyo Hondo, in La Zurza and in Ensanche La Fe.

"Immediately to continue expanding in the National District, we are going to extend it in the coming days in La Puya de Arroyo Hondo, in La Zurza and in the La Fe expansion, but we have also made an intervention, but only by the National Police to implement in the next days this project in the municipality of San Francisco de Macorís ”, explained the president.

According to data released by the Ministry of the Interior and Police, through the plan, crime in Cristo Rey was reduced by 67 percent and at least 1,751 firearms were surrendered, of these 300 voluntarily.

"This is not just a figure, but behind it there is a society with less fear, with less pain, more secure, therefore with much greater hope for a future, with much better quality of life," said Abinader.
